Data Architect

Organization

You will be part of the talented software development team of Coface Technologies - an excellence software development center opened in Bucharest, and a key driver in the technology field, aimed to position Coface Group as the most agile global trade-credit partner in the industry.

 The candidate will have two missions (~50% of the time each)

  •  Document Coface's architecture in its architecture description tool Ardoq.
  •  Participate in a study for the rationalization of the COFACE information system (with other architects)

 

Mission

The desired candidate is an experienced data architect. As part of the Coface architecture team, he will be responsible, in conjunction with another data architect located in our Bucharest premises, for implementing Coface's "data centric" policy.

 

To this end, he will have to :

  - deal with different aspects of Coface data modeling,

  - participate in the implementation of data governance (in liaison with the data office)

  - implement the Data Virtualization tool chosen by Coface (Denodo) in

  •     Participating in PoCs to use Denodo on different projects.
  •     Writing documents to help, prescribe and recommend the use of Denodo.
  •     Helping projects choose whether or not to use the tool
  •     Helping developers and data analysts to implement Denodo (view modeling, optimization, ...)

Required Technical Skills

1. Data Competencies

  •   Very good knowledge of Oracle and SQL
  •   Denodo's mastery will be a decisive plus.
  •   Minimal knowledge of SQL Server, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch DBMS,
  •   Minimal knowledge of Java architectures and frameworks
  •   Knowledge of BO and Power BI reporting tools
  •   Knowledge of ODATA and GraphQL dedicated API model

2. General Architectural Skills

  •   Knowledge of TOGAF will be a plus, as the architecture team is in the process of redesigning the architecture procedures and documents based on this method.
  •   Ability to work in all architecture layers, the candidate may be required to work on the rationalization of computer systems, particularly at the data level.

3. Other skills required

  •  A very good level of English is essential (all written documents in English, many oral and written exchanges with our colleagues all over the world).

Functional/Enterprise Architect

Organization

You will be part of the talented software development team of Coface Technologies, that is an Excellence Software Development Center opened in Bucharest and located in Globalworth Plaza (Aurel Vlaicu). This position reports directly to the Tech/Team Lead, and mainly interfaces with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Quality Assurance Engineers.

 

The candidate will have two missions (~50% of the time each)

  •  Document Coface's architecture in its architecture description tool Ardoq.
  •  Participate in a study for the rationalization of the COFACE information system (with other architects)

 

For the 1st part, the candidate shall :

  • Train himself in the Ardoq tool (on boarding provided by Coface),
  • Incorporate the various existing architecture descriptions in various formats (Powerpoint, Viso, Excel, proprietary CMDB, MagicDraw, etc.) into the new tool in compliance with Coface specifications.
  • Make changes to some of these specifications (proposal for adapting metamodels, proposal for architecture presentation formats adapted to various audiences, etc.) in agreement with the Coface architecture manager.
  • Discuss with the various stakeholders (other architects, application and IT domain managers, product owners) to recover architecture elements that are currently little/not/poorly documented in order to reverse document them into Ardoq.
  • Validate his work with the domain architects.

 

For the second part, the candidate will work with the architect in charge of the application landscape rationalization study on the portfolio of ~450 Coface applications in order to:

  • Discover the overlapping of features between applications
  • Choose which applications will be kept and which ones will have to be decommissioned
  • Analyze the gaps between decommissioned and retained applications to identify the developments to be made in the target applications.
  • Estimate the costs and savings for each decommissioning
  • Elaborate an iterative rationalization roadmap based on these elements
  • Discuss with the various stakeholders (team architects, application and IT domain managers, product owners) to validate these proposals and prepare files for the approval committee.

 Required technical skills

  •  Real experience of rationalization projects (effective participation in projects of the same kind)
  •  Proven experience in Archimate, BPMN and UML modeling
  •  Very good level in spoken (international team), read and written English
  •  Operational knowledge of TOGAF

Non-technical skills required

  • Used to exchanging with the various stakeholders about enterprise architecture topics.

Software Senior Java Developer – Full-stack

Job Brief

Our ideal candidate is passionate about software engineering, familiar with Agile-based SDLC from preliminary system analysis to test and deployment, have full-stack capability, is eager to understand business and end-user requirements and is available for long-term commitment.

Project

The iNCA application (International New Claims Application) is a critical application in Coface, responsible for the registration and management of new claims raised by clients in the event of a defaulted contract.

The application supports and automates a major part of operations in the claims divisions of Coface branches Europe and South and North America. In addition, the application serves as an information tool for the contract and claims divisions.

The application is going through a modernization phase meant to upgrade all technologies and bring it up to modern standards.

Responsibilities

 

  • Design and engineer of high-performing, mission-critical and scalable enterprise-grade applications
  • Act as Technical Leader for one or more parts within the solutions
  • Coach Mid and Junior levels of Software Developers, and perform code reviews
  • Can take roles of Scrums master in Agile-based SDLCs that follows the Scrum methodology
  • Ensure your deliverables are in compliance with functional and non-functional specifications
  • Provide support for refactoring and architectural reviews
  • Contribute in all phases of SDLC, including bug fixing and production issues investigation
  • Maintain high standard of source code quality as per Quality Gates requirements by writing clean, efficient and testable code

Requirements & Competencies

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • 4+ years’ experience working on Java/JavaEE - based projects as Software Developer
  • Good command in spoken and written English
  • Proven hands-on experience and good knowledge of Java Core concepts: Collections, threading, streams, I/O, XML processing, OOP concepts
  • Proven knowledge in working with databases and persistence frameworks: JDBC, SQL and  PL/SQL, Hibernate
  • Good knowledge of J2EE/Java EE concepts: JPA, EJBs, JAX-WS/JAX-RS, REST/RESTfull, SOAP, RMI
  • Knowledge of asynchronous programming: Observables, Streaming
  • Knowledge of basic architectural patterns: 3-Tier, SOA, DAO/EAO
